The California Horse Racing Board has appointed steward Scott Chaney, who is also an attorney, to investigate the events surrounding the late administration of Lasix that readers of this blog are all too familiar with, according to the Thoroughbred Times.
Well done, I say. Lets hope Mr. Chaney can get in touch with Gina Powell and reconcile her story with Executive Director Ingrid Fermin's position that no one knew about it because if they did they would have reported it.
UPDATE: On March 3rd, Brent Schrotenboer in the San Diego Union-Tribune offers a more complete article on the matter.

I admire you shining your truth flashlight into a dark closet over there at CHRB. As for Gina and Ingrid, they are each entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.
The guy behind the entire mess is CRAIG FRAVEL the VP of Del Mar. He made a deal with Ingrid Fermin to allow Intercontinental to run (in violation of CHRB Medication Rules)so that Del Mar would NOT lose the days handle (which was huge). Fravel and Ingrid conspired to hide the lasix shot information from everyone until the next day!!! Those are the facts and since Ingrid's office is at Del Mar, she just was helping her Del Mar friends and giving Intercontinental a little competitive advantage over the rest of the field!!
Well, deep throat, do you have any more on this? Can you point me to a source? Some documentation, perhaps? Anything I can write on?
Send me an email with what you've got. brad@toteboardbrad.com you can get an anonymous email address easily at yahoo, google, excite, where ever, if you want to stay behind the cloak for a bit.
