Movement the Movie

This past week as Movement has returned to training, Jamey and his team began preparing her for the possibility of a route. (A route is a race longer than a sprint and denotes distances of one mile or longer.) They want her to relax on the track and learn to rate her speed, whether on the lead or not. She can be headstrong in the morning and tries to dictate to her rider what she'll do on the track, usually wanting to gallop off. This video chronicles her jog Saturday September 30th. She galloped on Sunday October 1st. In the next installment we'll see how that goes.

The players:
Jamey, trainer [pictured, left]
Dave, assistant trainer and exercise rider [pictured, right]

Producer's note: The production values are very low as I have no skills whatsoever when it comes to filming or editing video; the video was shot with a regular digital camera, not a camcorder; and all the editing was done with freeware.

u have a nice looking horse. always interesting to see first hand how "other" people do things. may i (strongly) recommend that u take a look at Preston Burch's training manual. It is available on amazon. it will open ur eyes in regard to what is being done with ur horse.

Groundbreaking video for the TBA,great soundtrack and not a bad job for a novice film editor.

great job! Very informative and enjoyable. I am thinking that your training rider looks big but could be the vest. Also, will the route be on the turf? Holy cow, TVG mention and now making your own movies! I am busy getting going on the made for tv script....I am certain I can find a few doubles for Movement! Plus I still think we need the Movement Horsehat.

Yeah, the exercise rider is big. He tacks about 165, but only jogs her. The girls (Jessica & Jenny, pictured a few posts ago) gallop her, and they ride at 120 or less. Jock Jorge Bourdieu takes her for works.

Ok, so you want hats? I dunno, maybe I'll call them and see what they can do. I'm guessing they need to be able to sell 50 or 100 to make it worth their while, and I don't think the Movement juggernaut is there yet. Do you have any contacts over there Joe?

Thanks for providing such an insightful and factual documentary on Movement's training. Loved the blues background! Looking forward to the sequel, "Movement: The Winner's Circle"
